Power Relay Test

Intake shutter valve relay, Fuel heater relay, PTC heater A relay, PTC heater B relay, PTC heater C relay
  1. Disconnect the under-hood fuse/relay box connector J (10P) and K (5P).
  1. At the under-hood fuse/relay box side, do the following test.
    Intake shutter valve relay:
    • Connect power and ground between terminals J No. 9 (+) and the J No. 3 (−). There should be battery voltage between terminal J No. 4 and body ground.
    • Disconnect power and ground from terminals J No. 9 (+) and the J No. 3 (−). There should be no voltage between terminal No. 4 and body ground.
    Fuel heater relay:
    • Connect power and ground between terminals J No. 8 (+) and the J No. 7 (−). There should be battery voltage between terminal K No. 5 and body ground.
    • Disconnect power and ground from terminals J No. 8 (+) and the J No. 7 (−). There should be no voltage between terminal No. 5 and body ground.
    PTC heater A relay:
    • Connect power and ground between terminals J No. 1 (+) and the J No. 10 (−). There should be battery voltage between terminal K No. 4 and body ground.
    • Disconnect power and ground from terminals J No. 1 (+) and the J No. 10 (−). There should be no voltage between terminal No. 4 and body ground.
    PTC heater B relay:
    • Connect power and ground between terminals J No. 1 (+) and the J No. 6 (−). There should be battery voltage between terminal K No. 3 and body ground.
    • Disconnect power and ground from terminals J No. 1 (+) and the J No. 6 (−). There should be no voltage between terminal No. 3 and body ground.
    PTC heater C relay:
    • Connect power and ground between terminals J No. 1 (+) and the J No. 2 (−). There should be battery voltage between terminal K No. 2 and body ground.
    • Disconnect power and ground from terminals J No. 1 (+) and the J No. 2 (−). There should be no voltage between terminal No. 2 and body ground.
