SIL Troubleshooting

NOTE: Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS before doing this procedure. If any DTCs are indicated, troubleshoot them first, then do this procedure.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Do the gauge self-diagnostic function. ■
Is the result OK?
YES -
Go to Step 3 .
NO -
Substitute a known-good gauge control module, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good gauge control module, replace the original gauge control module.
  1. Do the APP sensor signal inspection. ■
Is the result OK?
YES -
Go to Step 4 .
NO -
Depending on the result, replace the appropriate part.■
  1. Check the brake pedal position switch position. ■
Is a position proper?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Do the brake pedal position switch adjustment. ■
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Check the clutch pedal position switch A position. ■
Is a position proper?
YES -
Go to Step 7 .
NO -
Do the clutch pedal and clutch pedal position switch A adjustment. ■
  1. Connect the HDS to the DLC.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Check CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION SWITCH A in the DATA LIST with the HDS.
Is OFF indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 10 .
NO -
Go to Step 25 .
  1. Press the clutch pedal.
  1. Check CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION SWITCH A in the DATA LIST with the HDS.
Is ON indicated?
YES -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the gauge control module, clutch pedal position switch A, and the ECM.■
NO -
Go to Step 12 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Disconnect the clutch pedal position switch A 2P connector.
  1. Connect clutch pedal position switch A 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 with a jumper wire.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Check CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION SWITCH A in the DATA LIST with the HDS.
Is OFF indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 17 .
NO -
Replace clutch pedal position switch A. ■
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Remove the jumper wire from the clutch pedal position switch A 2P connector.
