A/C Compressor Clutch Circuit Troubleshooting

Connect the ECM connector A (49P) terminal No. 15 or ECM connector A (44P) terminal No. 14 to body ground with a jumper wire.

Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

Does the A/C compressor click?

YES
|

Check for loose wires or poor connections at ECM connector A (49P) or ECM conecotr A (44P). If the connections are good, check the ECM grounds. If the grounds are good, substitute a known-good ECM,
L13Z1 engine,
R18A2 engine,
K20Z4 engine,
and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original ECM,
L13Z1 engine,
R18A2 engine,
K20Z4 engine.

Repair open in the wire between the A/C compressor clutch relay and the ECM.■

Disconnect the jumper wire.

Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch 1P connector.
