Power Relay Test

PGM-FI main relay 1, Ignition coil relay, PGM-FI subrelay, ETCS relay, Rear window defogger relay
  1. Disconnect the under-hood fuse/relay box connector D (20P).
  1. At the under-hood fuse/relay box side, do the following test.
    PGM-FI main relay 1:
    • Connect terminal No. 16 and body ground. There should be battery voltage between terminal No. 5 and body ground.
    • Disconnect terminal No. 16 from body ground. There should be no voltage between terminal No. 5 and body ground.
    Ignition coil relay:
    • Connect terminal No. 16 and body ground. There should be battery voltage between terminal No. 18 and body ground.
    • Disconnect terminal No. 16 from body ground. There should be no voltage between terminal No. 18 and body ground.
    PGM-FI subrelay:
    • Connect terminal No. 20 and body ground. There should be battery voltage between terminal No. 9 and body ground.
    • Disconnect terminal No. 20 from body ground. There should be no voltage between terminal No. 9 and body ground.
    ETCS relay:
    • Connect power and ground between terminals No. 15 (+) and the No. 17 (−). There should be battery voltage between terminal No. 6 and body ground.
    • Disconnect power and ground from terminals No. 15 (+) and the No. 17 (−). There should be no voltage between terminal No. 6 and body ground.
    Rear window defogger relay:
    • Connect power and ground between terminals No. 4 (−) and the No. 14 (+). There should be battery voltage between terminal No. 3 and body ground.
    • Disconnect power and ground from terminals No. 4 (−) and the No. 14 (+). There should be no voltage between terminal No. 3 and body ground.
