Parking and Back-up Sensor Control Unit Test/Replacement

  1. Remove the right rear side trim panel.
  1. Disconnect the 16P connector (A) from the parking sensor control unit (B).
  1. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
    • If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
    • If the terminals look OK, go to Step 4 .
  1. With the connectors still disconnected, do these input tests at the following connector.
    • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
    • If all the input tests prove OK, go to Step 5 .

  1. Reconnect the 16P connector to the parking sensor and back-up sensor control unit, and do these input tests at the following connector.
    • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
    • If all the input tests prove OK, parking and back-up sensor control unit must be faulty; replace it.
