VSA System Symptom Troubleshooting - VSA activation indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored

VSA activation indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and watch the VSA activation indicator.
Does VSA activation indicator go off within 2 seconds?
YES -
The system is OK at this time.■
NO -
Go to Step 2 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Disconnect the VSA OFF switch 5P connector (without headlight washer) or VSA OFF switch 6P connector (with headlight washer).
  1. Check the VSA OFF switch.
Is the VSA OFF switch OK?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Replace the VSA OFF switch. ■
  1. Remove the gauge control module (tach).
  1. Disconnect the gauge control module (tach) connector (36P).
  1. Check for continuity between VSA OFF switch 5P connector terminal No. 2 (without headlight washer) or VSA OFF switch 6P connector terminal No. 1 (with headlight washer) and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair short to body ground between the gauge control module (tach) and the VSA OFF switch.■
NO -
Substitute a known-good gauge control module (tach), then go to Step 1 and recheck. If it is OK, replace the original gauge control module (tach). ■
