DTC Troubleshooting: U0100 (107-11)
DTC U0100:
 F-CAN Malfunction (TCM Lost Communication with ECM)
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0100 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 6 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.■
  1. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Are DTC U0103, U0155, and U1261 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 7 .
NO -
Go to Step 12 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
  1. Disconnect ECM connector A (44P) (R18A2 engine model) or ECM connector A (49P) (L13Z1 engine model).
  1. Disconnect the clutch actuator subharness 10P connector from the engine compartment wire harness.
  1. Check for continuity between ECM connector A (44P) terminal No. 36 (No. 37) * (R18A2 engine model) or ECM connector A (49P) terminal No. 3 (No. 4) * (L13Z1 engine model) and clutch actuator subharness 10P connector terminal No. 7 (No. 6) * .

Is there continuity?
YES -
Remove the clutch actuator assembly; R18A2 engine model, L13Z1 engine model, and check for change actuator subharness. If the wire harness is OK, update the TCM if it does not have the latest software or substitute a known-good TCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good TCM, replace the original TCM; R18A2 engine model, L13Z1 engine model. ■
NO -
Repair an open in the wire between the clutch actuator subharness 10P connector and the ECM (A36 (A37) * ) (R18A2 engine model) or ECM (A3 (A4) * ) (L13Z1 engine model).■

  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Wait for 30 seconds.
  1. Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
  1. Disconnect ECM connector A (44P) (R18A2 engine model) or ECM connector A (49P) (L13Z1 engine model).
  1. Disconnect the clutch actuator subharness 10P connector from the engine compartment wire harness.
