Power Relay Test

ISV relay, Fuel heater relay, PTC 1 relay, PTC 2 relay, PTC 3 relay
  1. Disconnect the under-hood fuse/relay box connector J (10P) and K (5P).
  1. At the under-hood fuse/relay box side, do the following test.
    ISV relay:
    • Connect power to the J No. 9, and ground to the J No. 3 terminals. There should be battery voltage between the J No. 4 terminal and the body ground.
    • Disconnect power from the J No. 9, and ground from the J No. 3 terminals. There should be no voltage between the J No. 4 terminal and the body ground.
    Fuel heater relay:
    • Connect power to the J No. 8, and ground to the J No. 7 terminals. There should be battery voltage between the K No. 5 terminal and the body ground.
    • Disconnect power from the J No. 8, and ground from the J No. 7 terminals. There should be no voltage between the K No. 5 terminal and the body ground.
    PTC 1 relay:
    • Connect power to the J No. 1, and ground to the J No. 10 terminals. There should be battery voltage between the K No. 4 terminal and the body ground.
    • Disconnect power from the J No. 1, and ground from the J No. 10 terminals. There should be no voltage between the K No. 4 terminal and the body ground.
    PTC 2 relay:
    • Connect power to the J No. 1, and ground to the J No. 6 terminals. There should be battery voltage between the K No. 3 terminal and the body ground.
    • Disconnect power from the J No. 1, and ground from the J No. 6 terminals. There should be no voltage between the K No. 3 terminal and the body ground.
    PTC 3 relay:
    • Connect power to the J No. 1, and ground to the J No. 2 terminals. There should be battery voltage between the K No. 2 terminal and the body ground.
    • Disconnect power from the J No. 1, and ground from the J No. 2 terminals. There should be no voltage between the K No. 2 terminal and the body ground.
