DTC Troubleshooting: C and AUTO

DTC indicator C and AUTO:
 Heater Control Unit Lost Communication with Recirculation Control Motor
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and then ON (II).
  1. Do the self-diagnostic with the heater control unit.
  1. Check for DTCs.
Is DTC B2982 or K and AUTO indicated?
YES -
Go to troubleshooting DTC 2982 or K and AUTO.
NO -
Go to Step 4 .
  1. Check for DTCs.
Is DTC C and AUTO indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, check for loose wires or poor connections on the heater control unit and recirculation control motor circuit.■
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  1. Disconnect the recirculation control motor 3P connector.
  1. Disconnect the heater control unit 32P connector.
  1. Check for continuity between the following terminals of the heater control unit 32P connector and the recirculation control motor 3P connector.
    32P:
    3P:
    No. 25
    No. 3
    No. 26
    No. 1
    No. 27
    No. 2

Is there continuity?
YES -
Check for loose wires and poor connections at the heater control unit and at the recirculation control motor. If the connections are good, replace the recirculation control motor.■
NO -
Repair open in the wire(s) between the heater control unit and the recirculation control motor.■
