DTC Troubleshooting: B1240 (L)
DTC B1240 or DTC indicator L:
 A Problem in the Mode Control Linkage, Doors, or Motor
  1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and then ON (II).
  1. Do the self-diagnostic with the HDS or climate control unit.
  1. Check for DTCs.
Is DTC D and AUTO?
YES -
Go to troubleshooting DTC D and AUTO.
NO -
Go to Step 5 .
  1. Check for DTCs.
Is DTC B1240 or L indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 6 .
NO -
Intermittent failure.■
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  1. Remove the mode control motor.
  1. Check the mode control motor linkage and doors for smooth movement.
Is the linkage and doors OK?
YES -
Replace the mode control motor. ■
NO -
Repair the mode control linkage and doors.■
