F-CAN Circuit Troubleshooting
Check for continuity between ECM connector No. 2 terminal No. 48 and body ground.
YES

Repair short in the wire between ECM connector No. 2 terminal No. 48 and the gauge control module (tach), the VSA modulator-control unit, the yaw rate/lateral acceleration sensor, the SRS unit, the EPS control unit, or the DLC.■
NO

Reconnect all connectors.
Disconnect the gauge control module (tach) 36P connector.
Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and turn on the HDS.
Does the HDS identify the vehicle?
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Reconnect the gauge control module (tach) 36P connector.
Disconnect the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector.
Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and turn on the HDS.
Does the HDS identify the vehicle?
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Reconnect the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector.
Disconnect the yaw rate/lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector.
Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and turn on the HDS.
Does the HDS identify the vehicle?
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Reconnect the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector and the yaw rate/lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector.
Disconnect SRS unit connector A (28P).
Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and turn on the HDS.
Does the HDS identify the vehicle?
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Reconnect SRS unit connector A (28P).
Disconnect EPS control unit connector D (28P).
Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and turn on the HDS.
Does the HDS identify the vehicle?
