Remove the pin or lock pin from the auto-tensioner.

Check the oil pump oil seal for damage. If the oil seal is damaged, replace the oil seal.

Remove all of the old liquid gasket from the oil pump mating surfaces, bolts, and bolt holes.

Clean, and dry the oil pump mating surfaces.
