DTC Troubleshooting: B1170
  1. Check for continuity between the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector terminals No. 38 and No. 39 and body ground individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Substitute a known-good VSA modulator-control unit, and recheck. If DTC B1170 is indicated again, replace the gauge control module (tach). ■
NO -
Repair an open in the wire.■
