Carpet Replacement

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • When removing components, use the trim tools or equivalent.
  • Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
  • Be careful not to damage the dashboard or other interior trim pieces.
  1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
  1. Remove these items:
    • Front seats, both sides
    • Rear seat, both sides
    • Front door sill inner trim, both sides
    • Kick panels, both sides
    • Rear center console
    • Driver's dashboard lower cover
    • Front center console
    • Rear seat foot guide cover
    • Steering joint cover
  1. Disconnect the floor wire harness connectors. Detach the connector clip and the harness clips.
  1. Remove the shift lever housing.
  1. Remove the bolts securing the change lever base, and detach the harness clips.
  1. Disconnect the SRS unit connector, and detach the wire harness clip. Using a T30 TORX bit, remove the ground bolt.
  1. Release the Velcro fasteners, then pull back the rear seat-back cover. Pass the rear seat belt buckles through the holes in the seat-back cover.
  1. Detach the clips, then remove footrest (A). For the plastic type footrest removal, pry up at the gap(s) (B) with a trim tool.
