This maintenance schedule outlines the minimum required maintenance that you should perform to ensure the trouble-free operation of the vehicle. Due to regional and climatic differences, some additional servicing may be required. Please consult the warranty booklet for a more detailed description.
The following items must be used for ‘‘Severe Conditions'' indicated on schedule if the vehicle is driven MAINLY under following conditions.
A: Driving less than 8 km (5 miles) per trip or, in freezing temperatures, driving less than 16 km (10 miles) per trip.
B: Driving in extremely hot over 35 °C (95 °F) conditions.
C: Extensive idling or long periods of stop-and-go driving.
D: Trailer towing, driving with a car-top carrier, or driving in mountainous conditions.
E: Driving on muddy, dusty, or de-iced roads.
NOTE: If the customer's vehicle is driven OCCASIONALLY under severe conditions, follow the Normal Conditions Maintenance Schedule.
* Only severe schedule is required in some countiries: refer to the warranty booklet.


Service at the indicated distance or time whichever comes first.
Replace engine oil filter *
Replace fuel filter
  If the fuel the customer uses is suspected to be contaminated with dust,   replace every 40,000 km (25,000 miles) or 3 years.
Inspect drive belt
  Look for cracks and damage, then check the position of the drive belt   auto-tensioner indicator.
  Check parking brake operation.
Check expiry date for temporary repair kit bottle.
Visually inspect the following items:

Check for correct installation and position, check for cracks, deterioration, rust, and leaks.

Check tightness of screws, nuts, and joints. If necessary, retighten.
  Check the master cylinder, VSA modulator-control unit damage and   leakage.
All fluid levels and condition of fluids
  Check levels and look for leaks. If necessary, add.

Engine coolant


Manual transmission fluid


Exhaust system
  Check the catalytic converter heat shield, exhaust pipe, and muffler   damage, leaks, and tightness.
Fuel line L13Z1, R18A2 and connections L13Z1, R18A2

Check fuel lines for loose connections, cracks, and deterioration.

Retighten loose connections and replace any damaged parts.


Every 10,000 km (6,250 miles) or 1 year
Replace engine oil *
Every 5,000 km (3,175 miles) or 6 months
Replace engine oil *
Every 10,000 km (6,250 miles) or 6 months
Replace engine oil filter *

Check the brake pad and disc thickness. Check for damage or cracks.

Check the calipers for damage, leaks, and thickness.
Visually inspect the following items:

Check steering linkage.

Check the boot for damage and leaking grease.

Check the bolts for tightness.

Check all dust covers for deterioration and damage.

Check the boot and boot band for cracks.

Check boots for leaking grease.
Every 10,000 km (6,250 miles)
Clean air cleaner element    L13Z1,    R18A2
Rotate tyres
  Check tyre inflation and condition at least once per month.
Every 20,000 km (12,500 miles)
Replace air cleaner element
Every 40,000 km (25,000 miles)
Inspect the valve clearance
  Check the valve clearance.
Every 100,000 km (62,500 miles)
Replace spark plugs
At 200,000 km (120,000 miles) or 10 years, thereafter every 100,000 km (60,000 miles) or 5 years
Replace engine coolant
  Use genuine Honda All Season Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2.
Every 3 years

Use only DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid. We recommend genuine Honda Brake Fluid.

Check the brake fluid level is between upper and lower marks on the reservoir.
