Transmission Shift Change Actuator (Shift Actuator Motor)

Function

The transmission shift change actuator is integrated with the shift actuator in one unit.
The shift actuator is connected to the shift lever of the manual transmission; and is composed of the motor section, gear section, and the shift actuator rod. This replaces the cable operation of the shift lever in conventional manual transmission.
By the control signals from the TCM, the motor operates; and by pushing the shift actuator rod through the gear mechanism, the transmission shift lever is operated. At this point, the position sensor detects the position of the transmission shift lever.
The shift elasticity protects the actuator and transmission by neutralizing the impact load, and shortens operation time.
