VSA DTC Troubleshooting: 73

DTC 73:
 Yaw Rate Sensor (Power Supply)
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  1. Disconnect the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector.
  1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
  1. Measure the voltage between body ground and yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector terminal No. 1.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Repair open (or high resistance) in the wire between the No. 4 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor.■
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  1. Reconnect the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector.
  1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
  1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then turn it ON (II).
  1. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 73 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 11 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose terminals between the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor 4P connector and the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting.
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
  1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then turn it ON (II).
  1. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 73 indicated?
YES -
Check for loose terminal in the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector. If necessary, substitute a known-good VSA modulator-control unit and retest.■
