Maintenance Schedule for Severe Conditions - EU

Type R Model
Follow the Severe Conditions Maintenance Schedule if the customer's vehicle is driven MAINLY under one or more of the following conditions.
NOTE: If the customer's vehicle is driven OCCASIONALLY under severe conditions, follow the Normal Conditions Maintenance Schedule.
Service at the indicated distance or time whichever comes first.

Every 10,000 km (6,250 miles) or 6 months
  Use normal schedule except dusty   conditions.

Every 20,000 km (12,500 miles)
  Use normal conditions maintenance   schedule except in dusty conditions.

Every 40,000 km (25,000 miles)
Wet type
Every 20,000 km (12,500 miles)
  Check valve clearance.
Every 40,000 km (25,000 miles)
Every 120,000 km (75,000 miles)
  Look for cracks and damage, then check the position of the   drive belt auto-tensioner indicator.
  Use genuine Honda All Season Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2.
At 200,000 km (120,000 miles) or 10 years, thereafter every 100,000 km (60,000 miles) or 5 years
  Use genuine Honda MTF.
Every 60,000 km (37,500 miles) or 4 years
  • Check the brake pad and disc thickness. Check damage and cracks.
  • Check the brake linings for cracking, grazing, wear, and contamination.
Every 10,000 km (6,250 miles) or 6 months
  • Use only DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid. We recommend genuine Honda Brake Fluid.
  • Check that brake fluid level is between upper and lower marks on the reservoir.
Every 3 years
  Check parking brake operation.
  If the vehicle is driven primarily in urban areas that have   high concentrations of soot in the air, under dusty   conditions or the air flow from the heating and cooling   system becomes less than usual.
  Check the position of the headlights.

Inspect vehicle corrosion:
  refer to the Body Repair Manual
  • External Paintwork and panel Corrosion Check.
  • Under body Corrosion Check.
Every year
Visually inspect the following items:
  • Check for correct installation and position, check for cracks, deterioration, rust, and leaks.
  • Check tightness of screws, nuts, and joints. If necessary, retighten.
  • Check steering linkage.
  • Check the boot for damage and leaking grease.
Every 10,000 km (6,250 miles) or 6 months
  • Check the bolts for tightness.
  • Check all dust cover for deterioration and damage.
  • Check the boot and boot band for cracks.
  • Check boots for leaking grease.
  Check master cylinder, VSA modulator-control unit   damage and leakage.
All fluid level and condition of fluid
  Check levels and look for leaks. If necessary, add.
  Check the exhaust pipe and muffler for damage, leaks,   and tightness.
  • Check fuel lines for loose connections, cracks, and deterioration.
  • Retighten loose connections and replace any damage parts.
Tyre condition
  Check pressure, puncture, or cuts and irregular thread   wear.
