VSA DTC Troubleshooting: 93

DTC 93:
 Gear Shift Position Status
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
  1. Change the shift lever in all position.
  1. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 93 indicated with DTC 91 at the same time?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
If only DTC 93 is indicated, go to the i-SHIFT system DTC U0404 troubleshooting. If no DTCs are indicated, intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then wait 30 seconds.
  1. Disconnect the gear shift control module 12P connector.
  1. Disconnect the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector.
  1. Check for continuity between VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector terminals No. 38, No. 39 and gear shift control module 12P connector terminals No. 9, No. 3 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to Step 9 .
NO -
Repair open in the wire between the gear shift control module and the VSA modulator-control unit.■
  1. Reconnect all connectors.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. Clear the i-SHIFT system DTC with the HDS.
  1. Change the shift lever in all position.
  1. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0103 indicated?
YES -
NO -
Check for loose terminals in the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector. If necessary, substitute a known-good VSA modulator-control unit and retest.■
