Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 2601

DTC 2601:

Display Diag: Connect

NOTE:

Check the vehicle battery condition first.
Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.
Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the general troubleshooting information.

Clear the hard error code.

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).

Go into the Diagnostic Menu and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu.

Check the System Links.

Is the Display icon red?

YES	-	Go to Step 5 .
NO	-	Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.■

Check for poor connections or loose terminals at navigation unit connector B (32P), and navigation display 20P connector.

Are there connections OK?

YES	-	Go to Step 6 .
NO	-	Repair poor connections or loose terminals, and recheck the self-diagnosis mode. ■

Select the DISPLAY.

Is the ROM and RAM OK?

YES	-	Go to Step 7 .
NO	-	Replace the navigation display. ■

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

Disconnect navigation unit connector B (32P) and the navigation display 20P connector.

Connect the navigation unit connector B (32P) terminals No. 10 and No. 26 and navigation display 20P connector terminal No. 5 and No. 15 with a jumper wire.

Is there continuity?

YES	-	Go to Step 10 .
NO	-	Repair open in the wire between navigation unit and navigation display unit.■

Disconnect the jumper wire.

Check for continuity between body ground and navigation display 20P connector terminals No. 5 and No. 15.

Is there continuity?

YES	-	Repair short to body ground in the wire(s) between the navigation display.■
NO	-	Go to Step 12 .

Check for continuity between navigation display 20P connector according to the table.

From terminal

To terminals

No. 14 (LT GRN)

No. 5 (GRN), No. 15 (RED)

Is there continuity?

YES	-	Replace the affected shielded harness.■
NO	-	Go to Step 13 .

Disconnect the audio unit connector C (14P) and USB adapter unit connector A (14P).

Check for continuity between body ground and navigation display 20P connector terminals No. 3 and No. 13.

Is there continuity?

YES	-	Repair short to body ground in the wire(s) between the navigation display.■
NO	-	Go to Step 15 .

Check for continuity between navigation display 20P connector according to the table.

From terminal

To terminals

No. 4 (BRN)

No. 3 (BLU), No. 13 (PNK)

Is there continuity?

YES	-	Replace the affected shielded harness.■
NO	-	Go to Step 16 .

Reconnect navigation unit connector B (32P) and navigation display 20P connector, then turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

Go into the Diagnostic Menu and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu.

Check the System Links.

Is the Display icon red?

YES	-	Go to Step 19 .
NO	-	Replace the navigation display. ■

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

Reconnect audio unit connector C (14P), then turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

Go into the Diagnostic Menu and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items Menu.

Select the Display.

Is the Display icon red?

YES	-	Internal short circuit of audio unit.■
NO	-	Go to Step 23 .

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

Reconnect USB adapter unit connector A (14P), then ignition switch to ON (II).

Go into the Diagnostic Menu and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items Menu.

Select the Display.

Is the Display icon red?

YES	-	Internal short circuit of USB adapter unit.■
NO	-	Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.■
