VSA Sensor Neutral Position Memorization
NOTE:
  • Make sure to connect and disconnect the HDS to the 16P date link connector (DLC) with the ignition switch in LOCK (0).
  • Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the VSA modulator-control unit. If it doesn't troubleshoot the DLC circuit: L13Z1 engine model, R18A2 engine model.
  1. With the ignition switch in LOCK (0), connect the HDS to the 16P date link connector (DLC) (A) under the left side of the driver's dashboard.
  1. Short the SCS line with the HDS.
  1. Make sure the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  1. Do not touch the brake pedal during Step 5 through 10.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  1. The ABS indicator comes on for 2 seconds and goes off.
  1. After the ABS indicator goes off, push the VSA OFF switch once within 2 seconds.
  1. After the ABS indicator comes on, push the VSA OFF switch once within 2 seconds.
  1. The VSA activation indicator blinks and the system starts VSA sensors neutral position memorization.
  1. When the ABS indicator, VSA indicator, and VSA activation indicator go off, the memorizing is done. If the indicators do not go off, retry these steps.
