Clutch Slave Cylinder Replacement

NOTE:
  • Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
  • Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle; it may damage the paint or plastic. If brake fluid does contact the paint or plastic, wash it off immediately with water.
  1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the audio or the navigation system (if equipped), then write down the audio presets. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery first, then disconnect the positive cable. Remove the battery.
  1. Remove the clutch line bracket (A), the mounting bolts (B), the clutch line from the clamp (C), then remove the slave cylinder (D).

  1. Remove the roll pins (A). Disconnect the clutch line (B), and remove the O-ring (C). Plug the end of the clutch line with a shop towel to prevent brake fluid from coming out.

  1. Connect the clutch line (A) with a new O-ring (B), then install the new roll pins (C).
    NOTE: Apply the rubber grease on the O-ring.

  1. Apply a light coat of molybdenum grease to the push rod (A) of the slave cylinder.
  1. Install the clutch line clamp (B), clutch line bracket (C), and mounting bolts (D).
  1. Check the clutch operation, and check for leaks.
  1. Install the battery. Enter the anti-theft code for the audio or the navigation system, then enter the customer's audio presets, and set the clock.
  1. Test-drive the vehicle.
