Clutch Master Cylinder Replacement
NOTE:
  • Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle; it may damage the paint or plastic. If brake fluid does contact the paint or plastic, wash it off immediately with water.
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Without cruise control: The adjusting bolt is substituted as clutch pedal position switch B.
  • RHD model is shown, LHD model is similar.
  1. Remove the brake fluid from the clutch master cylinder reservoir with a syringe.
  1. Remove the connector bracket bolt (A) (RHD model only). Disconnect the clutch pedal position switch B connector (B) clutch pedal position switch A connector (C).
  1. Pry out the lock pin (A), and pull the pedal pin (B) out of the yoke.
  1. Remove the retaining clip stopper (A) (If equipped). Remove the retaining clip (B). Disconnect the clutch line (C). Plug the end of the clutch line with a shop towel to prevent brake fluid from coming out, then remove the O-ring (D) from the master cylinder.
  1. Disconnect the reservoir hose (A) from the clutch master cylinder (B). Plug the end of the reservoir hose with a shop towel to prevent brake fluid from coming out.
  1. Remove the master cylinder mounting bolts (C).
  1. Remove the clutch master cylinder from then clutch pedal (D).
  1. Install the clutch master cylinder in the reverse order of removal. Make sure the tabs on the master cylinder hose clamps are pointed in the directions shown.
  1. Install the clutch line connector (A) with a new O-ring (B), then set in a new retaining clip (C) to the clutch master cylinder (D). Install the retaining clip stopper (E).
    NOTE: Apply the rubber grease on the O-ring and the joint part (F) of the clutch line connector.
  1. Check the clutch operation and check for leaking fluid.
  1. Test-drive the vehicle.
