Engine Oil Pan Installation

  1. Remove all of the old liquid gasket from the oil pan mating surfaces, bolts, and bolt holes.
  1. Clean, and dry the oil pan mating surfaces.
  1. Apply liquid gasket, P/N 08C70-K0234M, 08C70-K0334M, or 08C70-X0331S, evenly to the lower engine block mating surface and to the inside edge of the bolt holes.
    NOTE: Do not install the parts if 5 minutes or more have elapsed since applying liquid gasket. Instead, reapply liquid gasket after removing old residue.
  1. Install the oil pan.

  1. Tighten the bolts in two or three steps. In the final step, tighten all bolts, in sequence, to 12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 8.7 lbf·ft). Wipe off the excess liquid gasket on the each side of crankshaft pulley and flywheel.
    NOTE:
    • Wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil.
    • Do not run the engine for at least 3 hours after installing the oil pan.

  1. Install the transmission mounting bolts (A) and clutch cover (B).

  1. Connect the oil level sensor connector (A), then install the oil level sensor cover (B).
  1. Install the bolt (C) securing the harness holder.

  1. Install the lower torque rod bracket.
  1. If the engine is still in the vehicle, do Step 11 through 22.
  1. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
  1. Raise the vehicle on the lift to full height.
  1. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
  1. Raise the vehicle on the hoist to full lift.
  1. Lower the vehicle on the hoist.

  1. Install the engine under cover.
