DTC indicator D and AUTO:
Heater Control Unit Lost Communication with Mode Control Motor

Turn the ignition switch OFF and then ON (II).

Check for DTCs.

Is DTC B2982 or K and AUTO indicated?
|

Check for DTCs.
|
Is DTC D and AUTO indicated?
|
|
YES
|
-
|
|
|
NO
|
-
|
Intermittent failure, check for loose wires or poor connections on the heater control unit and mode control motor circuit.■
|

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
-
Disconnect the mode control motor 3P connector.
-
Disconnect the heater control unit 32P connector.
-
Check for continuity between the following terminals of the heater control unit 32P connector and the mode control motor 3P connector.

Check for loose wires and poor connections at the heater control unit and at the mode control motor. If the connections are good, replace the mode control motor.■

Repair open in the wire(s) between the heater control unit and the mode control motor.■
