DTC Troubleshooting: M and AUTO
DTC indicator M and AUTO:
 Climate Control Unit Lost Communication with Passenger's Air Mix Control Motor
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and then ON (II).
  1. Check for DTCs.
Is DTC B2982 or K and AUTO indicated?
YES -
NO -
Go to Step 4 .
  1. Check for DTCs.
Is DTC M and AUTO indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, check for loose wires or poor connections on the climate control unit and passenger's air mix control circuit.■
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  1. Disconnect the passenger's air mix control motor 3P connector.
  1. Disconnect the climate control unit 32P connector.
  1. Check for continuity between the following terminals of the climate control unit 32P connector and the passenger's air mix control motor 3P connector.
    32P:
    3P:
    No. 25
    No. 3
    No. 26
    No. 1
    No. 27
    No. 2

Is there continuity?
YES -
Check for loose wires and poor connections at the climate control unit and at the passenger's air mix control motor. If the connections are good, replace the passenger's air mix control motor.■
NO -
Repair open in the wire(s) between the climate control unit and the passenger's air mix control motor.■
