DTC Troubleshooting: U0107 (207)

DTC U0107:
 CAN Malfunction (ISV Actuator Control Module-ECM)
NOTE:
  1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
  1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
  1. Start the engine.
  1. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0107 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the intake shutter valve and the ECM.■
  1. Check the No. 24 ISV (15 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
YES -
Go to Step 9 .
NO -
Go to Step 6 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  1. Disconnect the intake shutter valve 10P connector.
  1. Check for continuity between intake shutter valve 10P connector terminal No. 8 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair short in the wire between the intake shutter valve and the under-hood fuse/relay box, then go to Step 33 .
NO -
Replace the No. 24 ISV (15 A) fuse, then go to Step 33 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  1. Disconnect the intake shutter valve 10P connector.

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and measure voltage between intake shutter valve 10P connector terminal No. 8 and body ground within 1 second.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Go to Step 21 .
NO -
Go to Step 12 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Is the ISV control relay OK?
YES -
Go to Step 14 .
NO -
  1. Disconnect the under-hood fuse/relay box connector J (10P).

  1. Check for continuity between intake shutter valve 10P connector terminal No. 8 and under-hood fuse/relay box connector J (10P) terminal No. 4.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to Step 16 .
NO -
Repair open in the wire between the intake shutter valve and the under-hood fuse/relay box, then go to Step 33 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

  1. Measure voltage under-hood fuse/relay box connector J (10P) terminal No. 9 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Go to Step 18 .
NO -
Repair open in the wire (IGP line) between under-hood fuse/relay box connectors D (20P) and J (10P), then go to Step 32 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 2 minutes.
  1. Disconnect ECM connector No. 2 (58P).

  1. Check for continuity between ECM connector No. 2 terminal No. 43 and under-hood fuse/relay box connector J (10P) terminal No. 3.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to Step 38 .
NO -
Repair open in the wire between the under-hood fuse/relay box and ECM connector No. 2 terminal No. 43, then go to Step 33 .
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 2 minutes.

  1. Check for continuity between body ground and intake shutter valve 10P connector terminals No. 4 and No. 9 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to Step 23 .
NO -
Repair open in the wire between the intake shutter valve and G101, then go to Step 33 .
  1. Disconnect ECM connector No. 1 (96P).

  1. Connect between intake shutter valve 10P connector terminals No. 1 * , No. 6 to body ground with a jumper wire individually.

  1. Check for continuity between ECM connector No. 1 terminals No. 71 * , No. 95 and body ground individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to Step 26 .
NO -
Repair open in the wire between the intake shutter valve and ECM connector No. 1 terminal No. 71 * (No. 95), then go to Step 33 .
  1. Reconnect ECM connector No. 1 (96P).
  1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
  1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
  1. Start the engine.
  1. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0107 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 38 .
NO -
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  1. Reconnect all connectors.
  1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
  1. Reset the ECM with the HDS.
  1. Start the engine.
  1. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0107 indicated?
YES -
Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the intake shutter valve and the ECM, then go to Step 1 .
NO -
Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.■
  1. Reconnect all connectors.
  1. Start the engine.
  1. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0107 indicated?
YES -
Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the intake shutter valve and the ECM. If the ECM was updated, substitute a known-good ECM, then go to Step 40 . If the ECM was substituted, go to Step 1 .
NO -
If the ECM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the ECM was substituted, replace the original ECM. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.■
