DTC P0546:
EGT Sensor 1 Circuit High Voltage

Start the engine, and keep idling until the engine coolant temperature becomes 70 °C (158 °F).
-
Test-drive under these conditions:
-
Engine coolant temperature (ECT SENSOR 1) above 70 °C (158 °F)
-
On flat route
-
Transmission in 2nd gear
-
Vehicle speed above 60 km/h (38 mph)
-
Drive about 30 seconds or more
-
Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0546 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Does the screen indicate FAILED?
|

YES
|

|
NO
|

If the screen indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at EGT sensor 1 and the ECM. If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to
Step 1
and recheck.

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
-
Disconnect the EGT sensor 1 2P connector.
-
Connect EGT sensor 1 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 with a jumper wire.
-
Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
-
Check EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE (EGT) SENSOR 1 in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Is about 4.95 V or more indicated?

Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 2 minutes.
-
Disconnect ECM connector No. 1 (96P).
