DTC P1704:
Clutch Pedal Position Switch A/B Circuit Incorrect Correlation

Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
-
Check CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION SWITCH A in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Press the clutch pedal.
-
Check CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION SWITCH B in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

YES
|

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at clutch pedal position switch A, clutch pedal position switch B and the ECM.■

NO
|

|
|
-
Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 2 minutes.
-
Disconnect clutch pedal position switch A 2P connector.
-
Disconnect ECM connector No. 2 (58P).
-
Check for continuity between clutch pedal position switch A 2P connector terminal No. 1 and body ground.

YES
|

Repair short in the wire between clutch pedal position switch A and ECM connector No. 2 terminal No. 40, then go to
Step 15
.

NO
|

|

|
Is clutch pedal position switch A OK?
|
-
Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 2 minutes.
-
Disconnect clutch pedal position switch B 3P connector.
-
Disconnect ECM connector No. 2 (58P).
