Set speed will not resume when the resume/accel switch is pressed (with the cruise control main switch turned on, and set speed temporarily canceled by pressing the brake pedal)
Diagnostic procedure
  1. Check for diesel engine management system DTCs.
  2. Check the brake pedal position switch adjustment.
  3. Check the No. 3 (10 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.
  4. Do the cruise control input test. Test the cruise control resume/accel switch signal input. Test the brake pedal position switch signal input.
  5. Do the cruise control combination switch test.
Also check for
  • Faulty brake pedal position switch
  • Open circuit, loose or disconnected terminals: LT GRN/BLK, YEL
