Air Separation Cover Replacement
  1. Remove the water bypass hose, then remove the air separation cover.
  1. Remove all of the old liquid gasket from the air separation cover mating surfaces, bolts, and bolt holes.
  1. Clean, and dry the air separation cover mating surfaces.
  1. Apply liquid gasket, P/N 08C70-K0234M or 08C70-K0334M, evenly to the cylinder head mating surface of the air separation cover.
    NOTE: Do not install components if 5 minutes or more have passed after applying the liquid gasket. Instead, remove the old residue and reapply the liquid gasket.
  1. Install the air separation cover in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE:
    • Wait at least 30 minutes before filling the expansion tank with engine coolant.
    • Do not run the engine for at least 3 hours after installing the air separation cover.
  1. Install the water bypass hose.
