M/T Assembly Removal

NOTE: Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
  1. Write down the frequencies for the radio's preset buttons. Disconnect the negative (−) cable first, then the positive (+) cable from the battery. Remove the battery.
  1. Disconnect the transmission shift change actuator connectors (A) and the back-up light switch connector (B).

  1. Remove the air cleaner housing stay (A).

  1. Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor connector (A).

  1. Remove the harness holder (A) and air cleaner housing bracket (B), then remove the breather pipe (C) and the harness holder stay (D).
  1. Attach the engine hanger (E) to the engine using the 8 x 1.25 mm bolt (F) then attach the chain hoist to the engine.

  1. Remove the upper transmission mounting bolts.

  1. Remove the transmission mounting bolt (A) and nuts (B) then remove the ground cable (C). Remove the transmission mounting bracket base bolts (D).

  1. Remove the stud bolts (A) and the transmission mounting bracket base (B).
  1. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

  1. Remove the engine undercover.
  1. Drain the transmission fluid. Reinstall the drain bolt.
  1. Place the transmission jack under the transmission.

  1. Remove the lower torque rod mounting bolts.

  1. Remove the lower torque rod mounting bracket.

  1. Remove the intermediate shaft (A) from the differential. Hold the intermediate shaft horizontal until it is clear of the differential to prevent damage to the differential oil seal (B).

  1. Remove the clutch cover.

  1. Remove the lower transmission mounting bolts.
  1. Pull the transmission away from the engine until the transmission mainshaft clears the clutch pressure plate, then lower the transmission on the transmission jack.

  1. Remove the boot (A), release fork (B), and release bearing (C) from the transmission (D).
