NOTE:
-
Take care not to damage the body and glass.
-
When removing components, use the trim tools or equivalent.
-
-
Remove the molding (A) from the upper edge of the windshield (B). If necessary, cut the molding with a utility knife.
-
Use a putty knife to scrape off the excess old adhesive (A) or remaining double-sided adhesive tape (B) from the windshield (C): Do not scrape down to the painted surface of the body; damaged paint will interface with proper bonding.
-
Clean the windshield attaching surface and body with a sponge dampened in alcohol. Be careful not to touch the windshield where adhesive will be applied.
-
Attach the molding upper seal (A) with adhesive tape to the inside surface of the molding (B) as shown.

Apply a light coat of glass primer to the attaching surface (A) of the windshield, using 2 mm (0.08 in.) nozzle (B), then lightly wipe it off with gauze or cheesecloth:
-
Fold the edge of the adhesive backing (A) on a new molding (B) on each side.
Adhesive tape:
Thickness 0.8 mm (0.03 in.)
Width 4 mm (0.16 in.)
-
Hold a new molding upon the windshield (C) and center it, then install it on the upper edge of the windshield. Be careful not to touch the windshield where molding adhesive tape will be applied.
-
With a plastic spatula, push the back of the molding (A) against the edge of the windshield (B) from end to end.
-
Carefully pull the entire adhesive backing (A) away while pulling the edge of the molding (B) up. Take care not to tear off the adhesive backing.
-
Press the entire molding (A) against the upper edge of the windshield with a plastic spatula to attach the molding with adhesive tape (B). To prevent windings, push the molding evenly from end to end and securely into place.
