Tailgate Outer Handle Switch Test/Replacement
Open the tailgate, and remove the tailgate lower trim panel.
Disconnect the 3P connector (A) from the tailgate outer handle switch (B).
Check for continuity between the terminals.
There should be continuity between the No. 2 and No. 3 terminals when the switch is pulled.
There should be no continuity between the No. 2 and No. 3 terminals when the switch is released.
If the continuity is not as specified, go to
Step 5
.
Remove the inner taillight (rear panel light),
then remove the license plate lights.
Remove the two TORX screws and the tailgate outer handle switch (A).
Install the switch in the reverse order of removal.
