Security Alarm System Function Test
NOTE:
  • The alarm control siren can work by the internal Ni-MH battery if the vehicle battery voltage is low or the vehicle battery terminal is disconnected.
  • When the lock knob is pushed before the door is closed, the buzzer sounds 1 time and ultrasonic system doesn't work.
Ultrasonic sensor function test
  1. Open the driver's window.
  1. Close all doors, and lock the door with the keyless transmitter or the key cylinder switch.
  1. Wait for about 25 seconds for the security alarm system set. If the system is armed, the security indicator will blink.
  1. Put your hand into the cabin from the driver's window.
    • If the siren sounds and the hazard warning lights blink, the ultrasonic sensor detects normally, go to Step 5 .
    • If the siren doesn't sound and the hazard warning lights don't blink, replace the ultrasonic sensor
Internal battery of the alarm control siren function test
  1. Still the siren is sounding, open the hood, and disconnect the battery terminals.
    • If the siren sounds continuously, internal battery is OK.
    • If the siren stops sound, replace the alarm control siren.
