Dashboard Replacement

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
  • Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the dashboard.
  • Take care not to scratch the dashboard, body and other related parts.
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • When removing components, use the trim tools or equivalent.
  • LHD is shown; RHD is symmetrical.
  1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginnings work.
  1. Remove these items:
Middle portion
  1. Detach the harness clips (A).

Passenger's side
  1. For some models: Detach the GPS antenna harness clip (A) from back of the steering hanger beam (B).

  1. Front under the dash, remove the screws. Remove the glove box stay (A), then release the pins (B).

  1. From the front of the dashboard, remove the bolts securing the dashboard/steering hanger beam (A).

  1. Lift up on the dashboard (A) to release it from the guide pins (B), and detach the sunlight sensor harness clip (C), then carefully remove the dashboard through the front door opening.
    NOTE: Lay the dashboard on its front or back. Do not rest it on the lower console opening or you may damage it.
  1. Install the dashboard in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • Make sure the dashboard fits onto the guide pins correctly.
    • Before tightening the bolts, make sure the wire harnesses are not pinched.
    • Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly.
    • Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
    • Set the clock.
    • Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
