NOTE:
  • LHD is shown; RHD is symmetrical.
  • When removing components, use the trim tools or equivalent.
  1. Lower the glass fully.
  1. Using a trim tool, push on the rear hook (A) and pivot the inner handle cap (B) on the front hook (C), then remove the cap and the screws securing the inner handle (D).

  1. Remove the screw from under the pull pocket lid (A).

  1. Remove the door panel (A) with as little bending as possible to avoid creasing or breaking it.
    -1.
Start at the bottom edge of the door panel, release the clips that are just above the marks (B) on the edge of the panel with a commercially available trim pad remover.
    -2.
    Detach the upper clips.
    -3.
Starting at the rear, pull the door panel upward.
NOTE: To avoid damaging the joint between the inner handle (C), latch cable (D) and the inner handle cable (E), do not pull the door panel up by force.

  1. While holding the door panel (A) away from the door, disconnect the inner handle cable (B), lock cable (C), the power mirror switch connector (D) (driver's), the power window switch connector (E), and detach the door wire harness clip (F), then remove the door panel. Take care not to bend the cables.

  1. Remove the screws (A, B) securing the inner handle (C).

  1. If necessary, release the hooks (A), then separate the inner handle trim (B) and inner handle (C) from the door panel (D).

  1. Install the door panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • Check if the clips and cable fasteners are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
    • When replacing, the latch cable (A) should be fixed to the cable fastener (B) with the latch in unlock position as shown.
    • Make sure the connector is plugged in properly, and the cables are connected securely.
    • Make sure the window and power door lock operate properly.
    • When reinstalling the door panel, make sure the plastic cover is installed properly and sealed around its outside perimeter to seal out water.
