Brake Hose Replacement
NOTE:
  • Before reassembling, check that all parts are free of dirt and other foreign particles.
  • Replace parts with new ones whenever specified to do so.
  • Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle; it may damage the paint; if brake fluid gets on the paint, wash it off immediately with water.
  • To prevent the brake fluid from flowing, plug and cover the hose ends and joints with a shop towel or equivalent material.
  • The illustrations show the front of the vehicle.
Removal
  1. Replace the brake hose (A) if the hose is twisted, cracked, or if it leaks.
  1. Release the cord clips, and remove the wheel sensor cord (B) from the brake hose mounting bracket (C).
  1. Disconnect the brake line from the brake hose joint (A) using a 10 mm flare-nut wrench (B).
  1. Remove the brake hose mounting bracket (A) from the body.
  1. Remove the brake hose mounting bracket from the brake hose joint (B).
  1. Remove the banjo bolt (A), and disconnect the brake hose (B) from the caliper.
  1. Remove the brake hose from the damper bracket (C), and discard it.
Installation
  1. Install the new brake hose (A) on the damper bracket (B) with the 8 mm flange bolt first.
  1. Connect the brake hose to the caliper with the banjo bolt (C) and the new sealing washers (D).
  1. Install the brake hose mounting bracket (A) on the brake hose joint (B) with the 8 mm flange bolt by aligning the pin (C) and hole (D).
  1. Install the brake hose mounting bracket on the body with the 6 mm flange bolts. Do not twist the brake hose.
  1. Connect the brake line (A) to the brake hose joint (B).
  1. Attach the wheel sensor cord (A) on the brake hose mounting bracket (B) with clip as shown.
  1. After installing the brake hose, bleed the brake system.
  1. Do the following check:
    • Check the brake hose and line joint for leaks, and tighten if necessary.
    • Check the brake hoses for interference and twisting.
