Rear Spring Replacement

Removal
  1. Remove the rear wheels.
  1. Remove the rear spring seat lower cover (A).
  1. Position a floor jack under of the rear axle beam, and support the rear suspension by raising the jack.

  1. Remove the wheel sensor harness clips (A) on the left and right side.

  1. Disconnect the brake line (A) from the brake hoses (B), and remove the brake hoses on the rear axle beam by removing the brake hose clip (C).
    Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle; it may damage the paint; if brake fluid gets on the paint, wash it off immediately with water.
    NOTE: During installation, install the new clips.

  1. Remove the flange bolts (A) from the bottom of the dampers on the left and right side.

  1. Lower the jack and the rear axle beam, remove the spring (A) and upper spring seat (B).

Installation
  1. Install the spring (A) on the spring upper seat (B).
    NOTE:
    • Set the spring in the clip (C) of the upper spring seat securely.
    • Align the spring upper end (D) with the stepped part of the upper spring cushion.
    • After installation, be sure that the clip, stopped part and the other rubber parts are not pinched with the spring.

  1. Lower the rear axle beam. Align the spring lower end (A) with the stepped part (B), and install the spring lower seat (C) to the rear axle beam (D) as shown.
  1. Place a floor jack under of the rear axle beam, and support the rear suspension by raising the jack.
  1. Install the new flange bolts to the bottom of dampers on the right and left side.
  1. Install the brake line with the new clips on the right and left side.
    NOTE:
  1. Install the wheel sensor harness clips on the left and right side.
  1. Install the rear spring seat lower cover.
  1. Install the rear wheels.
    NOTE: Before installing the wheel, clean the mating surface of the hub bearing unit and the inside of the wheel.
